Supervisory Responsibilities: No 

Summary: The Bilingual Receptionist/Case Assistant provides compassionate assistance to the underserved through reception coverage; including information, referral and follow up for clients, as needed. This position is also responsible for clerical support for the Poughkeepsie office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Answers telephone, greets visitors and directs inquiries to the appropriate person.
  2. Provides information and referral to clients and documents these interactions in the Outcomes database.
  3. Assists with gathering statistics and preparing reports related to Case Management, Immigration, Food Pantry, etc.
  4. Assists with calendaring for staff and space within the center
  5. Responsible for ordering supplies
  6. Generates AFPs
  7. Handles all duplication and collating functions
  8. Maintains filing system
  9. Prepares material and set up for meetings as assigned
  10. Other duties as assigned

  • Remain stationary at a work station, and use a computer.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment i.e. copier, fax, scanner, postage machine and printer.
  • Ability to use and respond to phone calls.
  • Ability to file documents in cabinets.
  • Ability to work with the public.



Education and/or experience:

  • High School Graduate or GED with prior office experience, required.

Skills, Licenses, and/or competencies:

  1. Bilingual English/Spanish, required.
  2. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and telephone skills.
  3. Willingness to work in a team
  4. Proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel and Outlook
