Team Catholic Charities NY Joins Shalene Flanagan in TCS NYC Marathon

A Huge Shout Out to Our Ten Runners

Muscling Sunday, Nov. 5, through misty New York City streets, ten Team Catholic Charities NY runners joined the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon winner Shalane Flanagan, the first American woman to win the marathon in 40 years, in setting their own personal records raising funds for Catholic Charities.  Our intrepid team raised $37,681 to help us provide for New Yorkers in need. 

Some started not long after dawn.  Some finished not long before dusk.  Some stopped to catch their breath, changing sneakers midway because their feet ached so much.

Yet every Team Catholic Charities NY marathon runner garbed in Catholic Charities shirts powered through the 26.2 mile trek across all five boroughs, bringing attention and support to our goal of rebuilding lives.

We cheered them on city streets.  And we tracked them online thanks to the New York Roadrunners’ cool app that followed each runner during the entire route.

Now we’re giving them a shout out for their huge accomplishment:
