Poverty. Here in New York we know far too well just how it looks. Hungry children. Homeless families. People with special needs living on the streets.

The gnawing hunger hurts. And so does the pounding it takes on a person’s dignity and respect.

Enough! How can we stop it now?

Catholic Charities Executive Director Msgr. Kevin Sullivan joined key experts today, October 7, at One Pace Plaza in NYC to take this issue head on at the Poverty Awareness Campaign.

"Dignity and respect is fundamental to the human person,” Msgr. Sullivan said when he spoke during the Inequality and Poverty Panel.

Other speakers during this global conference included Kerry Kennedy, President of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, Winnie Byanyima, executive director of Oxfam International; Maria Elena Salinas, Peabody Award-winning Univsion anchor, Christopher Fabian, UNICEF Innovation Unit co-director and many more.
