Hey, What’s Going on at ShopRite?

One sign, “World’s Greatest Can Can Sale,” means soup and sauce are bargains.

But how about the other new sign, “Feeding Our Neighbors”?

It's simple, says Tom Urtz, ShopRite’s Vice President of Operations. Their 26 stores in the New York Archdiocese renewed their support for our Feeding Our Neighbors campaign.

These are your and my hungry neighbors we’re talking about.

And between us and ShopRite, we can put food on our hungry neighbors' tables now.

Mr. Urtz and Catholic Charities Executive Director Msgr. Kevin Sullivan launched the event at the local New Windsor ShopRite yesterday and are holding another kickoff event at the Yonkers ShopRite on Prospect Ave. tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 14th.

But back to the bottom line. How can we shoppers help?

Easy. Just make a donation of cash or non-perishable food at participating ShopRite stores from Sunday, January 10th through Saturday, January 30th.

There is just one goal for Feeding Our Neighbors: to ensure that no hungry neighbor is turned away.

Feeding Our Neighbors is a united effort to fight hunger. This campaign is a response to Timothy Cardinal Dolan's call that we all do our part to replenish food pantries and soup kitchens in our community that so many families rely on to survive.

Sponsored by Catholic organizations throughout the Archdiocese of New York and managed by Catholic Charities, 100-percent of campaign contributions support local food pantries that serve New Yorkers, non-Catholics and Catholics alike.
