Catholic Charities NY is offering free information sessions and legal clinics tailored just for you!

We are partnering with the New York State's Liberty Defense Project and volunteers to launch clinics in local neighborhoods throughout the Archdiocese of New York.

Our info sessions and clinics are catered to “DACA Dreamers, immigrants from El Salvador, Nicaragua and Haiti with Temporary Protected Status and immigrants from other countries worried about deportation

  • Services & Resources for Immigrant Families
  • Information and Advice for those with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and DACA
  • Know Your Rights Training (What to Do During Contact with ICE)

Our Rockland County event will provide all of the above with a specific focus on screening and re-registering Haitian TPS holders

This month we already held:

  1. A phone bank on 1/11 and 1/12 covering TPS, Family Petition, and Adjustment of Status that
    • Answered 288 Calls
    • Made 873 Referrals
  2. A legal clinic in Newburgh that provided 92 immigrants with
    • Free legal consultations
    • Access to resources and services

Dedicated, personable, English/Spanish speaking volunteers are needed for information gathering, legal screenings, and application assistance.

Come join us February 2, 2018 at our Dutchess County Community Legal Clinic​ OR March 3, 2018 at our Rockland County Legal Clinic

  • Serve your community with Catholic Charities!
  • You will meet with prospective clients, gather information about their journey to the United States, their life histories, and work with Catholic Charities attorneys to inform immigrants about their rights and legal options. Training will be provided in advance.
