Feast for the Hungry in Harlem

Posted on September 22, 2015 by Alice Kenny  |  Share

More than 400 hungry Harlem neighbors feasted on a chef-prepared Italian dinner earlier this month thanks to teamwork between Catholic Charities, the Food Bank for New York City and Barilla.

Together this team served up spaghetti and meatballs, tossed salad with citrus vinaigrette and more at our Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Community Center, site of one of Catholic Charities’ many food pantries.

The feast was part of a citywide call to action for all New Yorkers to help the 1.5 million children, adults, disabled and elderly who rely on food banks for their families.

And the event was part of Hunger Action Month. But at Catholic Charities, we take action against hunger every day.

Even a small donation can make a big difference. $1 can buy five meals!

Help us fight hunger now!

Catholic Charities is responding to the needs of our neighbors during the
COVID-19 pandemic.
