From Ali Baba dance to building buloya hats, join us celebrating the Dominican Day Parade on Sunday, August 14, 2016!

That’s right, Catholic Charities is marching with our Alianza Dominicana Division – And we have room for you!

To get ready, choose your day and your favorite creative outlet:

  1. Mondays/Wednesdays/ Fridays, 6:30 – 8 p.m.
    Ali Baba Dance and Ali Baba Percussion
  2. Tuesdays & Thursday, 6:30 – 8 p.m.
    Creative Arts and Ali Baba Percussion
  3. Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    Mask Making, Buloya Hats Creation and Carnival Dances

Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center produces literary, performing, and visual arts programs; supports and strengthens community cultural programs and institutions in Washington Heights and Inwood and serves as a home to local artists committed to enriching the lives of Northern Manhattan residents through the arts. 

Moreover, it is multicultural, celebrating Dominican, Latino, and Latin American cultures, with a special focus on Afro- Dominican artistic traditions in our own programming. The Center's physical space comprises the beautiful second floor gala/exhibition space, two performing arts studios and a large multipurpose space in the lower level, the lobby exhibition space, and the spectacular rooftop terrace.
