Cops, Community & Our Staff Bond in the Bronx During National Night Out

As police/community relations sour and cell phone shots of abuse multiply, Catholic Charities Homebase Staff stepped in by joining “National Night Out”  an annual event designed to foster alliances and prevent crime in the Bronx on August 2nd.

Our Bronx staff joined festivities sponsored in the Bronx 41st and 43rd precincts of the Hunts Point, Castle Hill and Parkchester neighborhoods known better for city challenges than for neighborliness. But on this special night, Catholic Charities staff, cops and the community joined together for barbeque, clown acts, jumping gyms and more.

While mingling at the event, Catholic Charities representatives also touted services we offer including:

Meanwhile, the neighborhood felt more like a college quad than a summer city block. Neighbors, cops and folks of all ages and backgrounds filled streets and parks during National Night Out with dining, dancing and fun.
