To Help Catholic Charities Feed Hungry New Yorkers

More than 500 Catholic Renewal members, all professionals in the restructuring industry, gathered for a cocktail reception at the elegant New York Athletic Club on Central Park South on Monday, September 12, to raise more than $900,000 to help Catholic Charities feed the hungry.

Catholic Renewal is a group of professionals in the corporate restructuring industry committed to building a community and network that will provide charitable assistance to individuals and groups in need through the inspiration and spiritual growth of its members.

The evening marked another key success for this special group that gathers regularly to bolster Catholic Charities with our commitment to serve New Yorkers in need.  They honored D.J. (Jan) Baker, Partner of Latham & Watkins with the 2016 St. Francis Service Award for his selfless integrity, humility and charity. Through the support of more than 185 sponsoring firms, they raised approximately $870,000

They also enjoyed an opportunity to mingle inside the club, outside on a terrace with a stunning skyscraper background and raise an additional $47,000 by bidding in the inaugural live and online auction.
