60,000 refugees trying to find peace and stability this year in the U.S. are now being turned away by the refugee ban.

"Protecting our borders and strengthening background checks? Fair enough. Blanket refusals to allow immigrants from a given nation, ethnic, or religious group? No way."  Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York

Drawing on our expertise as immigration and refugee service providers and first responders, Catholic Charities attorneys, case managers and legal experts are already on the ground:

  • Serving refugees suddenly stranded at New York airports
  • Offering asylum and immigration clinics throughout New York City and the Hudson Valley
  • Answering thousands of calls for help on our Catholic Charities New York Immigration Hotline
  • Informing immigrants of their rights and responsibilities through telethons and community meetings
  • Providing legal counsel and support to refugee children reunited with their families

“We know firsthand the impact of this. We stand with immigrants. We stand with refugees. Our language will be civil; our language will be respectful. But our passion and commitment will be second to none." Catholic Charities Executive Director Msgr. Kevin Sullivan.
