Catholic Charities operates the New York State New Americans Hotline. 

Check out our free “Know Your Rights/ Conozca Sus Derechos” Immigration Week Events to get the best answers to your questions about the refugee ban and immigration changes.

They’re taking place right now, from February 13 – 17!

And they’re focused on recent Executive Orders by President Trump on Immigration and how these changes will impact immigrant communities.

  • Immigration legal staff from Catholic Charities Immigrant and Refugee Services and other organizations in the New York area will:
    • Answer questions on our special phone bank operated through the NYS New Americans Hotline. Call our phone bank at (800) 566-7636 FROM 4 PM – 7 PM daily throughout this initiative
    • Provide general information about the executive orders and referrals to legal providers
  • A Live Feed will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 4 pm – 5 pm on Univision Nueva New York's Facebook page 
    • Berenice Gartner, reporter for "Noticias Univision 41 a Tu Lado" will host
    • She will read questions related to the recent executive orders in Spanish and English from all participants.
    • Volunteer attorneys from Catholic Charities, the Legal Aid Society and MFY will answer questions
  • Univision 41 will broadcast daily stories about this initiative including:
    • Catch & Release
    • DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)
    • Discrimination/Hate Crimes
