An Insider's Peek

Team Catholic Charities NY will be joining thousands of TCS NYC Marathon runners this Sunday

Our 13 Team Catholic Charities NY runners are soaking their calves, lacing their sneakers and running their final sprints as they prepare for the Big Day – this Sunday, November 6, during the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon. Now, with just two days to go, we have all you need to know to make the most of this 26.2-mile block party through the world’s most diverse city.

And already, what a race it has been!

  • Husband and wife team Cynthia and Evan Psencik are taking togetherness to another level.  Cynthia works for our New York Archdiocese as Associate Director of Youth Ministry as her husband, Even, works for Diocese of Bridgeport, Conneticut as Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Formation.
  • Meanwhile, father-and-son team Patrick Powers and stepson John Trudgeon are joining us from their home state of California.
  • Not to be surpassed, Meghan O’Neill is running with Team Catholic Charities again after joining us in the 2014 Marathon.

Together they and fellow teammates already raised $67,787 for Catholic Charities.

The bulk of money raised goes to our Catholic Charities St. Nicholas Project, a year-round program that distributes coats, blankets and basic necessities to New Yorkers in need.  And this year we have two runners donating funds they raised to our affiliated agencies, Astor Services for Children and Families and Catholic Big Sisters and Big Brothers.

So check out their 2016 TCS New York City Marathon route. Find out their start times

And join us in cheering on Team Catholic Charities NY!
