All Saints Day Prayers Following Halloween Attack

Today, during All Saints Day, Catholic Charities NY prays for those maimed and killed, for their families and friends, and for all of us after yet another senseless terrorist attack, this time yesterday in Lower Manhattan.

The horror of the attack by a driver of a rented Home Depot truck is multiplied by the time and place chosen; plowing down a busy bike path close to the pedestrian bridge at Stuyvesant High School on Halloween afternoon.

Its proximity to the World Trade Center 9/11 attack increases the tragedy for us at Catholic Charities. We served as the premier integrator of services for those lost and their survivors.

We witnessed their pain. We share in their loss.

And we pray, especially today, for peace, justice and God’s miraculous intervention.
